Stokes Croft’s Coral Reef Street Art Mural

24/12/2017

Stokes Croft’s Coral Reef Street Art Mural commissioned by a property development company to bring life to the front of their office.

Tired of the office front being constantly tagged and vandalised the client asked me to design a mural that would deter this behaviour and bring some colour and vibrancy into the area. They were particularly keen on an underwater theme with lots of coral to make it “busy” at street level.

This mural was not without its challenges! Painting started (by hand) in late November during which time the weather turned extremely cold, but armed with 3 hot water bottles and a constant supply of hot drinks from the super friendly neighbouring cafes the mural manifested. The detailed design along with very varied angles and surfaces meant it was extremely time consuming to complete. Thankfully the end result speaks for itself!!!

These wonderful fishy creatures are determined to bring a little mirth to anyone who strays into their salty shallows and is a regular attraction to many street art tours.
