Illustration Artwork for Nania’s Vineyard

27/06/2020

I was very happy indeed to be asked to illustrate the artwork for Nania’s vineyard and their new English Rosé Spritzer which launched this year! (June 2020)

Nania’s Vineyard was planted as a passion project by documentary cameraman James Bayliss-Smith and Shelley Nania.

James and Shelly inherited a 50 year old grapevine in their garden and subsequently caught the wine bug. They planted a small vineyard on their allotment behind their family home in Montpelier, right in the heart of Bristol. Made from the Rondo grape from a vineyard in Essex. Its berries have a deep red flesh and the rosé wine we’ve produced is bursting with summer fruit notes and provides a vibrant base for a light and refreshing spritzer – summer in a can!

James and Shelly wanted the branding to reflect their product’s key features. They felt illustrations of English wildlife would be a perfect fit! Rondo grapes and raspberries were also featured within the illustration highlighting the flavour of the wine.

It was fantastic to be involved with the composition of the design, taking into consideration various product features including the size of the can, the positioning, and nature of the finished label. The label is a compostable corn starch wrap to avoid plastics wherever possible.
